gonna take a guess that its a van rigged out with tvs and game consoles in the rear, where the owner runs his business going to kids birthday parties and what not

possibly going to need public liability insurance on top of the commercial insurance?

It might be useful if the OP clarified exactly (1) what the van is used for (2) what type of equipment it contains and (3) if members of the public are allowed on board.

Instead of just clicking the thanks button on the various posts - even the one asking WTF is a 'gamer van'.

Generally speaking you will need commercial motor and public liability cover as a minimum. Many commercial policies will not automatically cover the contents so some sort of goods in transit/marine cargo policy will likely be needed also.

Thank you for the info :) would it be best to go to a broker or a insurance company?

Preferably a broker or company like IOMST who specialise in this sort of thing.

In or around 400 euro I'd say

And the rest. The marine cargo alone would be more than that before you touch the PL and motor.
