On radio or otherwise. Me and a friend have asked for the old school tune, 'Piano madness'. No dice anywhere, guessing its just too heavy. Anyone got any others that are just to much for the airways or eardrums !

Radio Nova never plays Rage Against the Machine. Never heard them outside of Phantom/TXFM (RIP) in fact.

It is not a bell that he is referring to.

Ed Smyth played Killing In The Name in full when he did a live Songs of Praise from some festival last year.

About 25 years after Dave Fanning got in trouble for playing in on 2FM.

I've heard plenty of RATM on Today FM over the years.

They won't play any of the heavier stuff because it's pure shite; Slayer, Pantera, NIN and all of that utter dross will never make the airwaves for good reason. Radio is for music and not senseless noise.

That said, you don't hear a huge amount of very excellent music played on radio either.

It's all about playing the most popular stuff unfortunately, so even really great music that hasn't made it will be forgotten.

I have never heard Judge Dread on the radio. He had a number of hits in the mid '70s - all banned. Check them out on youtube - very innocuous by today's standards!

How about the original unabridged version of Don't Stop by The Outhere Brothers - heard it on a couple of pirates. Let's just say that I know why the version that was played on most stations was almost instrumental!

I heard it in full on Songs of Praise on Today FM about 18 months ago.

Def Dame Dope - Don't be silly had to be removed from the Kiss103 playlist in its day and obviously never played on any legals.
RTE mistakenly played the uncensored version of Don't marry her one morning during the Pat Kenny show and obviously most prince songs are the radio edit version only.

Give Ireland Back To The Irish by Wings.

The Boiler by Rhoda Dakar - a song that can never be forgotten after hearing...extremely chilling.
