    Good evening,

I'm looking for the best internet in Howth gaming wise. Low ping/latency, low or no jitter, good line quality and fast download speeds (interleaving turned off in some situations if possible). Any suggestions are welcomed and highly appreciated. Screenshots would be nice conformation mostly from people living in Howth if possible . Thank you kindly.
P.S. Virgin Media is unavailable unfortunately 😭

    Regards
    Gab

eFibre / VDSL if available, usually has slightly better latency than Virgin also.

Hey, thanks for your reply. I don't think the eFibre is available here, VDSL should be available here. I'll need to check, since I just moved here I'm not entirely sure, maybe even eFibre is available I not sure. Someone on the forum should know what's available in Howth.

Hello, according to the uswitch.ie website the services available to me are Eir/Eircom, Sky, Pure Telecom & Vodafone. But I know that nearly all of them are fairly poor and not just for gaming but for general browsing and watching videos on YouTube. Maybe Eir is the only option. I don't think that there is Fibre in the whole of Howth but frankly I don't know since I just moved here. Perhaps someone here will know if Howth has Fibre available. Thanks for your help!

eFibre might be available but I've read a lot of bad reviews about them, not sure what to do. I need your help/advice. According to switcher.ie Vodafone, Sky, Pure Telecom & Eir is available in Howth, Dublin 13.

Look at the NGA map and see if there are eFibre cabinets close by.

Efibre is a product name Eir used for VDSL.

    So:

    Eir = eFibre = VDSL

Those would be the guys that are available AND paid uSwitch to list them.

Of those, Sky have no broadband network and purchase white label broadband from BT Ireland, but anecdotally, everyone says they oversubscribe the hell out of it.
Eir, Voda, Pure - broadband will be fine but ain't NOBODY got time for dealing with Eir's call centres/ordering process, so that's a factor. Why would you put yourself through that? Plus, when you eventually cancel, they'll probably overcharge you. Try Digiweb or Pure for friendly peeps to deal with.

UPC/Virgin, local network can be very fast, but you won't be able to run VPNs, you NAT setup may be weird, and their peering is weird.

As already pointed out eFibre = FTTC = VDSL.

And if that's available, then you can try any of the providers listed here: http://fibrerollout.ie/rollout-map/where-to-buy/ , that have a square logo.

uswitch.ie, bonkers.ie and switcher.ie only list the providers, that have paid those sites to list them. That link above lists all providers that provide OpenEIR NGA products.

It really depends where you are in howth. There’s fibre to the village.
