I thought there was a dashcam thread but cant find it. I got 2 of these https://www.banggood.com/GS90C-Ambarella-A7LA70-DVR-FHD-G-Sensor-GPS-Dash-Cam-p-964493.html?cur_warehouse=CN

Got 2 x Class 10 32gb cards on ebay which it says it supports. Camera comes on ok, seems to recognise the cards but wont record to them. Camera goes off a few minutes later.

Same for both cards. Could it be the cards? anything else I could troubleshoot before I spend another few quid on a different card?

edit: I tried formatting the cards, camera still wont record to it

Have you tried the cards in another device like a phone or laptop etc? Any chance the cards are fakes?

Make sure that your virus guard is up to date if trying on a PC and disable auto play. Memory from ebay is risky.

Had a similar problem with ebay cards and Nextbase cam. Might record one file in ten/twenty! Got a genuine card from Halfords, no issues since. I wouldn't trust even a 'branded' card from ebay.....

Amazon is good for things like this. Or https://www.memoryc.com/ is you'd like to support an Irish company. Halfords aren't the cheapest for cards generally.

Also something that I only came across recently, Sandisk cards don't perform well in dashcams, except for the ones that specifically mention that they are for dashcam use. The constant writing to the card puts a strain on them, so you really need a good one.

A high endurance or HE card is what you need, they are specifically designed for dashcam recordings.

A lot of fake stuff floating around on ebay.

bang on lads I'll get an authentic one from a shop and give it a go

I did format the card on a pc as well and it did show available space as described but might not be a authentic class 10.. I'll report back

Amazon, www.mymemory.co.uk usually have decent prices, if you are after one quick have a look in Argos.

had a look in argos, this 16gb sandisk
    http://www.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/3555851/Trail/searchtext%3ESD+CARD.htm
looked good but having been bitten once I googled around and found the ultra ones arent to be used
    https://www.reddit.com/r/Dashcam/comments/5rtfzu/dont_buy_sandisk_ultra_sd_cards_please/

Im not in a real rush for it, didnt want to spend any more then 14-15e on them.

so this guy turns up on memoryc
    https://www.memoryc.com/21604-32gb-transcend-microsdhc-class10-uhs-1-400x-premium-series-60mb-sec.html

can get 2 for about 30e so fit the bill, but is the card ok for dashcam? Im not finding anything online to say it aint
