    Question...

Considering switching my elderly parents (80's) from Sky to Vodafone TV ..

    Ease of use important ..

Can anyone here comment on how Vodafone compares to Sky ?
There's significant cost savings for them but ease of use is more important.

    Tx

First - what channels do they watch ?

Freesat box gives you these , EPG , series link
    https://www.freesat.co.uk/whats/full-channel-list/

and any half decent TV will get Saorview.

Plan B if they want a one-remote solution is to get a TV that has Freesat built in.

If they need the latest movies or sport then they'll have to pay monthly

    Thx

I tried them on freesat before - but it was a struggle.

Really just wondering what others experience with Vodafone TV is

What was the nature of this 'struggle'?

Was it a lack of content or something else?

Just ease of use - they are in there mid to late 80's and struggled with the interface and recording...
Had gotten so use to Sky over the years ....

Reason I asked is that some devices have the option to use a 'Sky-like' interface/skin which might be more familiar than what you previously tried.

Here I find the Kodi interface to be acceptable ..... most of the streaming stuff is hidden so does not impinge.

Was it a genuine Freesat branded box ?

Recording on them is fairly idiot proof,
    - not quite as easy as SKY's pressing the red button during the trailer

Yeah the old Humax Foxsat doesn't wait long enough for you to press channel numbers, but you can use favourites to reduce the number of choices.

It was an Edision OS Mini http://www.freetv.ie/edision-os-mini-twin-tuner/

Might try them again on it ..

Having had ditched sky for freesat. Freesat is good however for me working from 2 devices was the deciding factor. I now have Vodafone TV. I find it very good and keenly priced with my broadband. I like the way programs can be restarted if you missed them. I also like the fact I have HD and don't pay any extra for.
