This is going to be interesting to track, some nice heavy snow for Wicklow Mountains is likely, lower levels I wouldn't try to call snow line yet but further north, the better the chance.

Latest GFS going for a possible event in northern areas only. High ground elsewhere possible.

The forecast on BBC after the ten o'clock news showed snow moving up over Ireland Sunday night/Monday morning. This has been on their forecast for the past 3 or 4 days. No mention on RTE forecast until last night.

This is the first time I couldn’t be bothered with snow.
Up in Armagh In the caravan so we’ll have to cut the weekend short and return Sunday evening rather than risk staying to Monday and getting into bother.

Seems like the onshore wind is ruining the chance of snow for the east coast again. Monday looks exceptionally cold for the time of year in parts of the North with a high of 1c in April!

this is fantastic , relax spring -yearners, its only 2nd april ,ye can have ye're six months of mediocre showery weather , it'll come soon enough , remember we often have spring like temperatures till late December here so it's pay back time.

    Weather Advisory for Ireland(update)
Heavy rain and strong easterly winds will become widespread on Sunday evening and night, continuing into Monday morning. The rain turning increasingly to sleet as it spreads north with some snow on hills, and possibly at lower levels also in northern parts.

Further rain, sleet and hill snow for much of Monday in the far north. Elsewhere turning less cold with rain gradually giving way to showers.

The snow level will be rising all the time through Monday morning so it looks like transitional snow to rain at the very most away from windward coasts. Very wet with heavy periods of rain in many areas.

Hirlam shows the Wicklow mountains could get a dumping during the small hours of Monday morning making some roads impassable for a time.

Very wet and starting to get windy here on the west Cork coast since about 10am now, some heavy enough bursts of rain. Wasn't expecting this to come in for another while!

Heavy shower of something white in Delgany on the sea ward side of Bellevue Hill. Usually if it's marginal, we get rain......

Looks wintry for a time with rain following later in the night into early Monday morning in the Northern half of the country as the front moves into cold air but milder air quickly following. Some parts of the North look to remain cold and am wondering if there could possibly be lying wet snow there into Monday night ( probably over 200m asl ).

Temp dropping here near Tralee, now at 5.8C down from 6.9C. A light shower gone through, overcast and dull.

Non stop rain since about 10/10:30am here on the west Cork coast. It's gotten heavier as the day went on with the winds picking up an awful lot. Also directly across from the ocean so can hear that bashing against the shore.

11.2mm for the event here in Waterford City. All rain but temp has dropped to 3.0c. Lots of snow up the Comeragh Mountains i would expect but may get all washed away as temps rise later.

Just wondering, is the rain meant to get heavier over night? Just saw that the yellow warning kicked in at 6pm, but it's been heavily raining down here since about 10

Started as light rain hours ago, then went to sleet, currently as the temperature falls it is turning more to snow on the Kilkenny hills, but not there yet. 2.2C
