Try FBD, they gave me a very good quote for my renewal.

Did you rang them and filled in as,new, qoute or rang them with reference number?

I am in a same boat. Renewal this month and so far is crazy. Liberty gave qoute for 2700eu. I **** you not.

Got it for €546 with Allianz with a named driver (who’s younger than I am, the system is mad) happy with that.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I feel your pain, mines gone up 300 quid from last year, liberty is cheapest so far at 700 odd.

Older cars are toxic it seems, will self destruct at any moment

Don't go near them! Great cheap insurance until you need them. Absolutely horrendous to deal with. I've just completed my year with them and I've never been so relieved to leave a company.

Try 123.ie, similar profile and car to yourself and they were by far the best at €465 Next best was AnPost at €688 and thereafter FBD at €759 but numbers soon got crazy thereafter. All those quotes were for TPFT cover given age of vehicle but some beneficial extras with 123 such as full NCB protection, breakdown assist and driving other cars.

What car do you have and how old are if you don’t mind me asking?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,189 ✭✭✭Dr_Colossus

39 and driving a 2007 Volvo S60 2.0T petrol, I think part of the reason I get such insane quotes and sometimes no quotes is that the car model has "Sport" in the name, well that and the age of the car despite it having a valid yearly NCT

I'm very similar profile. Looking now too. At it this morning

Need class1 and do big mileage. Breakdown and step back
    2.0 diesel kuga

Best so far AXA at 580 but that with 10% off as house with them.

    Aviva 620
    Fbd 690
    Chill 620
    123 810
    An Post 530 - no class 1
    AA 620
    Liberty 670

    An better since?

Edit my AIG renewal is 635.
