More efficient to heat cylinder and rads at same time?

    Hi folks,
Might seem like stupid question so apologies. Have a new gas boiler and motorised valve setup where we can heat hot water and rads separately. Its great. We have a nest thermostat and I've the hot water heating for an hour each morning and the rads on for hour between 730 and 830. My question is if I'd be better having the water and rads both on at the same time? Rather than running the boiler for two separate hours.
    Thanks,
    Mick

You get better heating and hot water performance by heating them separately and it allows you to throw the balancing valve for the hot water in the bin where it belongs.

Thanks so it makes more sense to have the boiler on heating the cylinder for an hour first then on for rads later?
