Is there a way of finding the average value for my car before I sell it?

Apologies if this has been asked over and over again but in the process of selling a car for the first time and before I put a price on the ad I was wondering if there is any good websites out there that would give me a ball park figure for what the car might sell for?

The car in questions is a 1.4 Opel Corsa Excite, (151), 5 door, petrol and has 90,000Km on it. I have looked up a few websites and sale prices seem to average between 10k to 12.5k, though the majority of those seem to be in dealerships. Is there some average depreciation rule on cars as each years passes that might steer me in the right direction?

    Thanks

Opel put the GFMV of 5 door Corsa at under 30% with 90k kms over 3 years, they're €17k ish RRP. so that's €5k

Generally GFMVs of 40% over 3 years are more common.

Your's would be considered a high mileage example for a supermini IMO

If you sell privately you have to look for similar cars on donedeal etc and start from there. If the dealer sells similar car for 10k you need to lower your price as you, as a private seller, offer no warranty of any sort.

Yeah the cheapest similar car been sold by a dealer was 11,500. Privately I found one that had an asking price of 10K. Im not sure what type of markup a dealer puts a car that he buys and then sells on but I was hoping to advertise it for around 8.5K. That figure is just based on what I have seen on websites so far and I havnt seen a comparable price at that rate on any of the websites I have checked.

Opel are discounting these brand new heavily as they have been around for so long so that impacts resale values of second hand ones. That and there are lots of ex rentals for sale too making prices depressing. They are not that loved either so your really going to have to price it aggressively in order to attract a buyer.

Well 5k is the Guaranteed Minimum Future Value that Opel put on them. If you wander into a garage and check trade in value against a sanely priced to sell vehicle that might be indicative of actual value :)

Seems a fair bit considering the mileage. I reckon yoo'd get €7k alright.
