Bleeding Boiler - Firebird Silverpack C26kw

    Hi,

Boiler ran out of oil some time back in house not in regular use but heating on timer. Oil delivered but heating not working. By resetting the switch at thermostat the burner/boiler worked fired and ran briefly (few minutes). Is an airlock possible cause?, if so any advice on bleeding welcome. Professional help may be on the way but not exactly clear. If there was a relatively straightforward DIY operation I could try would give it a go. Pictures attached of set up

    thanks

If this is what was needed to be reset, it could be broken circulation pump or other problem with circulation.

Take off the red cover. There will be an obvious bolt on the bottom left. It will more than likely take a bit to bleed it if heating has been running but no kero. If you doubt yourself tho leave it for someone who knows what they're doing.

Thanks Wearb, that is what got it going and you have confirmed my suspicion that circulation may be the issue - seeing as it did start on reset there and presumably overheated as wasn't getting heat away and stopped again

thanks might have a look but as house not in regular use can leave it to professional if in doubt (plumber who normally looks after bit out commission just now) - system prob overdue a service in any case
