If it's the 1.2, it's a well known issue and it's a pure turd of an engine.

Is it burning oil? When was it last serviced?

It's probably that cat that's gone, but they tend to fail if they are over worked by having an engine that has far too high emissions.

No mines a 1L not burning oil serviced just before test with new oil filter and air filter I'm going to try a new cat.

Just fyi I have the same car and just had a mechanic do some work on it last week for it's nct tomorrow, he said he tests the emissions on these cars and the skoda Fabia before he does anything on them because they are prone to failing on emissions and there is nothing you can do to get them to pass bar half rebuilding the engine

He said he had a woman in recently who asked him to do this after it failed , he advised her to scrap the car but she wouldn't listen. He rebuilt the whole head at a cost of over a grand , replaced the cat and it still failed

It's a pig of an engine
