    Hi guys,
I'm a total android novice - I used windows phones for 10 years but only swapped over when my daughter got diabetes and I needed some apps. This morning my Moto G5plus crashed. When I powered it on again all my contacts, messages etc are all gone. The phone is still logged in to my google account and the apps are there even though they're not on the home screen. Is there any way to restore all my settings and data?
    Thanks

Seeing that your google account is there, I would expect that google has your contact info saved against your profile. If you google 'google contacts' you should be able to see your contacts on a computer to make sure they are all there.

As for how to restore. I think we need to make sure that they are in fact missing in the first place. If you open the contacts app from the app drawer, what do you see? And same for messages? Is there anything there at all?

Google/Android wont automatically back up data fully. Unless you had titanium back up or similar running you might have to reinstall the apps if they are not showing.

Only if they were added as Google Contacts and not Phone Contacts.
