As title says really, have any plumbers specifically gone back to it after doing something different?

Just want to know what is like now. I left the trade in 2009.

Two chippy's i knew downed hammer and chisel about 6 or 7 years ago and went back to apprentices and became plumbers. Both are up to their eyes in work and are turning down jobs constantly.
