Diplexer Problems

I have installed two sets of diplexers at home in recent months but I'm having problems with one set. Input is from a quad lnb and an aerial amplifier. With Saorview running, when I power up the sky box the Saorview picture freezes. The Sky box picture never freezes. I'm certain that all connections are sound. I'm wondering if very old coax cable (1970s) could cause this type of problem before I go out buying more diplexers. The reason I'm asking this is because the coax on my functional set of diplexers is brand new.
    Thanks, Tony
