RF Modulator Help

So I have a TV box running through an Mercury RF Modulator so I can watch it on multiple TVs at once but my problem is that when it’s plugged into the Modulator the picture is not as clear as it should be and the colour a little off??



When I plug it straight into a TV with HDMI cable it’s perfect and when I run it through the Modulator it’s kinda hazy..

I have changed the Mercury Modulator twice but wondering if I got a different make would it make a difference or if anyone could help at all it would be great..

Sorry I also should add the HDMI cable from the box is running through a HDMI to a Red, White, Yellow cable converter..

This was set up for me so I’m thinking there is an easier way..

Yep. It certainly does. Its a 5v one. A lot of the Android phones chargers have the same power output of 5V so one of those could be used, but with a mini usb cable.

Theres also a switch on the side for PAL or NTSC which needs to be switched to PAL.

OP I presume you know you wont get 1080p on the TV's that you are tuning in the signal on. It'll be 576. Analogue doesnt do HD!

the image is never going to be as sharp when converted to analogue with an rf modulator, it certainly wont be as sharp as straight hdmi,
you could try changing the modulator rf out frequency from 68' to a much lower channel, this may improve some of the hazy picture but you will have to re tune your tvs to match.
technomate make a digital rf modulator which keeps the signal quality ,you simply plug the hdmi cable directly into the technomate modulator and it gives you a digital signal out similar to the saorview digital signal, as it a high spec piece of kit its expensive especially if you compare the price to the mercury analogue model

Yes you can ....... and view on multiple TVs concurrently if you wish.

I use the Edision model.

Remember that the dvb-t tuner in the receiving device (TV/Box) must have H264 capability. If it receives Saorview it will work.

The thing about those DVB modulators is that when combined with a Saorview signal, you won't have any control over assigning the Logical Channel Number unless the unit supports the Nordig v.1 LCN descriptor standard. If it doesn't, your TV may shift the channel number of the modulator to something like 255, even if it's set to something else.

The Edision supports it, but I'm not sure about any other.
