    Does anyone know what software RTE uses for its live broadcasts. Or any information on the technology they use. Thank you

    Most of them are satellite backhauled so there is no software used - hardware encoders, hardware decoders.

    I'm not really sure how to describe it. Like what is the system they use for say a live TV broadcast for the vision mixer?

    Brandmaster is their on screen graphics programme. I believe the gear varies.

    Most of their OBs are outsourced to TVM. A complete breakdown of their gear and the various OB facilities and mixing etc packed into their trucks is on TVM's website. http://tvm.ie/facilities/
