    Hi all,

My girlfriend and I will be spending a day in Vienna the end of May on the way back to Dublin after a few days in Budapest. What would you do if you had 24 hours there? Is there any must do's while there?

Any food recommendations also would be great.

    Thanks.

Schönbrunn palace is well worth visiting. I'd probably spend the morning and early afternoon there. It's a good idea to buy tickets online in advance for the palace tour so you can skip the queues. You could spend the rest of the day exploring the historic centre of Vienna. There is a tram you can take around the Ringstrasse, which is a ring road around the centre. This gives a good view of the city and passes lots of the famous buildings including the State Opera and the Burgtheater. Make sure you visit one of the fabulous cafes there. I recommend Cafe Central, which is probably the most famous (frequented by Freud, Hitler and Trotsky). The prices there aren't quite as high as some of the other ones as well.
