No point in flogging it anyway!

Yes, this is tragic, barbaric, inhumane, avoidable yet totally expected.
We all know who is to blame, where they are, the Gardaí know too, but nothing will be done.

Neill P and PJ will talk about it for a day or two, Cork Indo, and d'Echo will have articles, the comments online will express shock and anger but then it will be forgotten.
Until it happens again, X months later.

One comment on FB last night summed it up "someone has to do something" about this. Not the guy that posted that though, somebody else.

Careful now. Last time there was a thread about these "people" some got their knickers in ateist and our brave mods deleted the thread.

Would it be possible to bring in some legislation that excludes these people from possessing horses?
I remember seeing the horse they killed let die up near Farranferris, absolutely horrific.

Or the horse that was run head first into a car during one of the cultural sulky races on the Mallow Road.

Not from cork myself, but in Dublin here we'd flog it.

Someone's 'pet' died. Guess it wouldn't fit in the brown bin.

    Something, something culture?

Trump would be proud of this level of teflon coated evasion.

'No proof horse abandoned by Travellers’

The Traveller Visibility Group (TVG) has said it cannot be determined whether or not individuals from the Traveller community
were involved in the incident which left a horse dead in an estate on Dublin Hill.

Hawthorn Mews estate residents were left shocked, horrified and appalled by the abandonment of a horse that died while being driven with a sulky harness.

“It is important to note that as the owner of the animal cannot be determined
we cannot assume that it was necessarily a Traveller horse owner that is responsible for this incident.

“There are many people from both the settled and Traveller communities who keep horses on the Northside of Cork city.
In both communities, some keep their animals well and others do not.

You'd think a group like this would make even the tiniest bit of effort to build bridges, instead of automatically taking the stereotypical cowards stance
when the people they represent have rightfully been called out for their abuse and neglect of horses.

Must be one of the many, many settled people who keep horses as pets and drive them along public roads in sulky harnesses.
