    I've found that these lightweight woven tarps get easily ragged by pointy bits in the logs. If you put some scrap plastic (or old sleeping bags/duvets) down as an underlay, then you can prevent this + it allows the tarp to be better tensioned.

    Yes they do rip easily, but it's only for the wood as I wanted to use the tarps I had on machinery, and didn't need another thick expensive tarp.

    I've used playmats, like below, I had handy, and compost bags as underlay.

    Ah no, I forgot about the helmet! Hopefully there's some left in my local store. Doubt there's much interest in Eastwall.
