Lino over ceramic / stone tiles ?

We have ceramic / stone tiles laid in our kitchen and wondered if it's possible to get lino laid on top of them rather than remove the existing flooring ? The area is fairly large, so I can only assume it will be expensive to replace the existing floor ....

From what I've read in other places, yes it is possible. However the grout lines in your tiles will show through as indentations, so you'd probably have to add a layer of self-leveling compound first.

Yea, just use a self leveling compound, a job like this is bread and butter stuff for most flooring stores, any store will recommend/price one for you. Just make sure to prime if your doing it yourself.

Ah perfect, I'll drop into some of the local shops to talk to the guys, just wanted to check first of it can be done :)

I'll also research if the existing tiles and be cleaned / restored, might be worth the job as well.

    Thanks !
