Hey I was wondering if anyone on here could help.I have been let go from my job today in a nutshell I'm an alcoholic and I've missed too many days since starting in December and they had enough and it's my own fault.the issue I have now is it was doing a btea course until last December and I didn't like it so took a job and dropped out.now I have to go down tomorrow and try to sign on for a payment.my issue is do I just say I lost the job because they weren't busy enough or go legit and be honest and say I'm having problems with drink.what does that entail would I have to go the doctors first etc.my rent is due on.Friday and I don't think I'm going to cover it with what I'll probably get off the job so I'm a bit concerned now.it goes without saying addressing the drinking is importand as well but for now I just want to get some money coming in any advice would be appreciated

go to your GP, then go to your local community welfare office and explain your situation if you cant make your rent payment. citizens information center should also be of help, they can advise you on treatment

It looks as if your kinda ready to look for treatment for your alcoholism at this point so if I was you here’s what I would do.
Your not fit for work because your illness is preventing you from being available so
Go to your GP today and talk to him/her.
There is loads of help now for people suffering with alcoholism who are ready to accept treatment. You are not alone, it’s a terrible disease.
Ask the GP to give you a SW cert for illness benefit. You fill out the rest of it.
Go to your SW office with the cert and ask to see/make an appointment with the CWO and you can submit the cert and ask for a SWA payment while you seek help.
You will have to submit a cert every week.
