Glove box is on other side. Would it be the switch even thou one brake light is working?

Does the Córdoba have the glove box under the steering wheel like the older models? If so the switch is in behind that and very easy to change it is a common fault

    Give him a break :)

If two out of 3 lights are broken it could be just the bulbs.
Did both die at the same time?

Try with the bulb that you know for sure works. If it still doesn't work start looking at possible wiring being loose or rust in the bulb socket.
If you have a voltmeter then that can tell you if juice are getting to the socket.

Also check the wiring harness that goes from the car to the boot lid. If this is worn it may cause the wires inside to have been broken.
