I can't enter letter in my pin to gain access to my phone. I'm getting a number/letter keypad but can only key in numbers. any help appreciated of course. I have 4 numbers and a letter in pin . it's an Alcatel pixi 4. I had no problem previously but I haven't used the phone for over a month.

I'm not using a SIM. I use phone only for videos and recordings so therefore don't need SIM . I've used pin to login before without SIM successfully. the keypad I'm getting is different from the previous in that it is only numbers with abc under the number 2 and so on. there's no letter under the number 1. there's no hash key no star. just numbers and letters.

Will the number appear off you hold the number on the keypad for a second or 2?

no but thanks for idea. I solved the problem by turning phone off. then pressing down volume and power button together and waited. then a list of options arrived and I, using volume button, scrolled down to wipe and restore to factory settings.I then pressed power button to confirm that. it then did that very quickly and a setup followed. I went through that and it worked nicely. I reset my pin to four numbers and left out the letter. I then got rid of pin option. now phone comes on automatically. as I don't use a SIM card in phone I don't need to have a pin . hope this answer helps someone.I can record video etc without SIM .
