My patio table got blown over in the wind and the glass smashed. Im considering trying to pick up a second hand one to replace it, but Id like to fix it if possible. Any recommendations on the cheapest / easiest way to do it? As I see it the options are:
    i) new glass - probably expensive.
ii) a sheet of perspex, cut to shape with a hole in the centre
iii) a sheet / a few sheets of wood, painted.

Bear in mind Ive got no tools and wage epic warfare with even the most basic Ikea furniture. Dublin 13 area.

    Thanks!

thinking its going to be safety glass to be used, use google or yellow pages to see who is near you, thinking if possible can you bring table with you as top will be critical if going for glass as holes need to be correct.maybe new table could be cheaper from same source? wood would be cheaper but would need treating to keep out water be it slats or solid.

You will have to use toughened glass, also probably patterned as well so you aren't looking at other peoples feet.
I'd bring the whole table in to a glass place and get them to measure and cut it themselves so they have the corners exactly right.
In Cork I have used Rapid glass and found them very good.

I have a patio table almost identical to that. You're welcome to have it if you like.
