Running a TV box through a homeplug, HD glitching

Hi folks, please bear in mind I'm not hugely technical minded when it comes to networks and how they work so here goes.
Basically, I have an Eir evision box and a smart TV connected to a homeplug in the back room , routing to the modem towards the front of the house, annoyingly in the extension meaning the WiFi signal has to fight it's way through a house wall. In the back room we have a TP Link AV 500 model PA4020P and the modem is connected to TL Pa 411.
Smart TV for the most works fine, streaming 2160 videos from Netflix no problem, had Sky Sports live stream on Now TV for a week, again no hassle. But the evision box is causing issues. There's a lot of glitching and freezing of the picture on HD channels and it's frustrating.
The other plug in the AV500 set is upstairs as it has a WiFi signal and is being used as a separate WiFi network for upstairs.
Am I looking for too much from the homeplug network? Or is there some trick to fixing glitching pictures from Eir TV boxes?

    This too shall pass.

First thing I'd do is plug out the homeplug upstairs & see if that resolves your issue. Is there a single Ethernet cable connecting both the tv & e vision box? Or is there a separate cable for each? Try plugging out the tv also if it's the latter.

If it works with only the e vision box on the homeplug network it's likely momentary drops in the connection, while the homeplug is routing data elsewhere that's the issue. Live streams would be more susceptible to this sort of drop out.

It could also be interference on the power lines themselves causing the issue. If you're able to watch 4k netflix, it's unlikely to be a bandwidth problem, although you can check this by plugging a laptop in the e vision boxes place and doing a speed test.

Or it could simply be that the e vision box doesn't like an intermediary. I have an old blu ray player that plays up when connected through a homeplug.

eVision is deployed by Eir using EoP so it's not the latter.
