Leaving Cert Music Practicals Unprepared Tests

Hello! For my music practicals, we were practicing the unprepared tests. Our teacher had us practicing the aural rhythm test (where you get the actual bar line and clap it out), but I'm better suited to the aural melody test (where they play it and you clap it back, but you don't see the bar line). Is it easier to just go with the sight reading or do the aural melody test, if I find the rhythm test difficult?
