Hi all, thinking of buying a 161 Mini Cooper which has been imported from the UK. Does anyone know if that would still be under manufacturers warranty (only 19k miles) ? If so can the warranty be transferred to Ireland and to the new owner? Thanks!

Manufacturers warranty should be applicable across the EU. Check that there isn’t a distributors warranty extension which might be more restricted. Does it also come with a TLC servicing pack for 3 years or 5 years servicing. I moved back from the U.K. with a 132 Paceman a couple of years ago and continue to have free servicing under the U.K. pack.

BMW/MINI UK and BMW/MINI Ireland happen to be the same distributor so the balance of the original 3 year warranty should be valid here.

The garage doesn't seem to know what warranty is left but I'll make sure they find out. No mention of a TLC servicing pack. I'll check it out though! Thanks a mill!!

Date of 1st registration will tell you, it's normally 3 years from that date.

TLC service pack is usually 100,000km or 5 years afaik, whichever comes first and taken out at the time of original purchase. If you have the old UK reg then ring a UK MINI dealer and they will tell you if it has or not.
