would all Toyota garages offer the same trade in deals or would they vary from Toyota dealer to dealer ?

Vary. But I'm sure not by a huge amount.

Nope. They’re all effectively buying the car for what they determine it to be worth. It’s up to you to get the best deal by playing them against each other.

Vary they are all competing even though they are selling same brand usually scrappage schemes and finance rates are identical because its the manufacturer backing them even price on new cars can vary

any advice ? We are going to look at a Toyota CHR next week, we have a 10yr old car to trade in, can give a good down payment, ( about 6 grand aswell as the trade in) but we have no experience in buying a new car, any advice would be welcome...

    Thanks.

Check out if Toyota are doing any scrappage schemes especially if you are looking for a hybrid or sell it privately always a market for runabout cars

I’d advise you to shop around. I sold a RAV4 bought new in 2016 for 35k and the dealership who sold it offered me 18k cash. Another Toyota main dealership who I had never used before offered me 22k.

Definitely shop around and don't get bamboozled by trade in offers after everything the key is how much actual money r u paying

I traded in a Verso 2 years ago against an Auris hybrid touring. I went to 3 garages in Dublin. There was €1200 between them. I rang back the 2 most expensive and told them I needed their best price and would give them a deposit over the phone to whoever was cheapest at the end of the day. They knocked another €750 off.

Always good to buy at the end of the month or quarter. Salesman tend to be a bit more attentive.

Ring around several dealers and get quotes for a straight cash purchase of the model you have decided on.
Be careful to make sure each quote is for exactly the same model and specification.
Sell the 10 year old for cash.

You would really want to be sitting down in front of a dealer to get their best price. You won't get it over the phone or via email. They get lots of them everyday that materialise into nothing.

I do know a guy that did this when buying a C4 back in 2010. He didn't care as long as it was diesel. Got a good price too.

Got no hop from some places in fairness

I'd say they were just delighted someone wanted to buy a C4. :pac:

He was told he had to take any colour the had. Turned out to be black which was fine!

I'd drive one but I'm soft in the head

It's kind of easy business for a dealer.
They have no trade in to worry about and they know their margin to the last penny.

Theyre still competing with the other dealers though. When I was selling them I think there were 58 Toyota dealers and it only took a few eejits selling out at cost price just desperate to make numbers to upset everything :)
