Hi, I was recently diagnosed with fibroids, I have had extreme heavy bleeding, constipation and pain, I would be of the impression that I have a quick growing fibroid, as I wouldnt have had the symptoms for long but on ultrasound i was told I had multiple cysts and a 5cm fibroid, since then I feel like I am after growing to about 6 months pregnant and that was only a month ago. I am on a routine waiting list for review by Gynae and then will have to wait again for surgery. So I am thinking very strongly of going private for this. I work with a nurse and she tells me that the operation to have large fibroids removed is almost the same as a caesarian section, and recovery time is up to 6 weeks, if you wanted to get pregnant afterwards you would have to wait up to 6 months apparently. I just want the bloody thing gone at this stage. Not nice your daughter asking everyday am i sure i am not pregnant.
