For sale, a 2012 model Specialized Allez Compact, size 58cm (XL).

Great starter road bike that has fallen out of use. I'm 6'3'' so it would suit someone around my height. It hasn't been used since it's last service in 2016 so is good to go. The bike is in great condition overall, with just some scuffs and cosmetic damage on the gear shifters.

It's 16 speed compact chainset (Shimano).

The tyres are Specialized Armadillos (equivalent to Gatorskins, so a hardwearing tyre in general).

There is a Specialized trip computer on it for a simple way to keep track of speed/distance.

Included is a small saddle bag and the original pedals.

I also have a pair of Specialized road shoes size 47 (size 12 uk) with Look Keo cleats and pedals which I'll include with the sale.

    Pick-up only in Wicklow Town.

    Price: €350 for everything ONO.

    Hi NotGill,
I am looking for a starter road bike and i am 6'3". Is this a heavy bike, i currently have a stock hybrid bike from Halfords so looking to move up a bit. Is the frame heavy on it?
I only have €275 but can come to Wicklow to pick up this week if that helps...
Let me know what you think please?
    Cheers,
    Gibo

    Hi Gibo,

I imagine you will notice a big difference depending on what kind of hybrid from Halfords it is. The fork is carbon which is uncommon for the price range, and makes a big difference in how it handles. The rest of the body is aluminium which lends to the bike being light overall.

I'd take €300 and we have a deal pending inspection by you. The bike is in great condition and is ready to go. I'll throw in a mini pump for attaching to the frame and a spare tube for the saddle bag.

    Thanks,

    Conor
