New ACMI Dublin based with CRJ1000's.

    Has anyone heard about them?

CRJ1000 is an odd aircraft to do ACMI with. Bit of an odd aircraft in all circumstances actually!

Never heard of them, but they may be on to something. If they got a few contracts like cityjet and Stobart have done operating franchise routes for major airlines they may well be very successful. But who knows, they’d need to be secure and head hunt a few good experienced people with deep knowledge of the industry to win such contracts.

Excuse the newbie question but what's ACMI?

    From Wiki
“A wet lease is a leasing arrangement whereby one airline (the lessor) provides an aircraft, complete crew, maintenance, and insurance (ACMI) to another airline or other type of business acting as a broker of air travel (the lessee), which pays by hours operated. The lessee provides fuel and covers airport fees, and any other duties, taxes, etc.”

If this is the same company, they appear to be linked to Air Nostrum: https://centreforaviation.com/data/profiles/airlines/hibernian-airlines

It seems to be more of a broker to than an airline (similar to aviajet/Nordic airline setup if anyone remembers that)

Hibernia flying some charters for Sunway this summer I believe using Nostrum aircraft and crew

They're an Irish arm of Air Nostrum that will operate CRJs. As with SAS they wanted an Irish AOC. The AOC and Part M approvals have yet to be issued. They have a small number of staff in a Dublin 2 office at the moment.

Weirdly they've had their liquor licence for onboard sales for quite a while now!

Getting a liquor license is considerably easier than getting an AOC in Ireland.
