Sky Q Question

    Hi all
Got Sky Q and have to say not overly impressed ,maybe it will take some getting used to but I feel somewhere along the line usability was sacrificed for functionality such as fluid viewing and 6 recordings etc. I can almost imagine some early 20 techno geeks in Sky being beside themselves presenting this revolution and executives going along with it not wanting to look foolish by saying no.
Anyway my biggest gripe and hopefully its just me doing something wrong but is it possible to scroll through the channel banner to see whats on live TV during playback mode of a recording. The only thing i can seem to get on the banner is fast forward / rewind by swiping up or previous channel by swiping right.
    Any help appreciated

Yeah you can no longer access the mini guide (save to get info on the programme you’re watching) while watching recordings. It’s a bit of an irration alright, but you can still use the full EPG. Worth noting it behalves differently for certain content (eg on demand and series linked shows) and allows you to see the previous episodes and next episode of the show, which I find useful.

Having had quite a bit of use now of both Sky Q and Virgin Media Horizon, I definitely know which one I prefer. Horizon arrived first but feels sluggish and underpowered to use, compared to Sky Q. It’s like they concentrated with packing it with features and didn’t give it the technical capability to perform those features properly (and in some ways, such as apps,it’s still ahead of Sky Q features wise). Whereas Sky Q, to borrow a phrase from Apple, (mostly) just works, it performs well and isn’t slowed down by the pretty animations and colourful graphics.
