Recently upgraded from a Minix 8H plus to this.
On anything I view, Netflix etc , the sound drops for a split second every six seconds or so. Impossible to watch anything on it as a result. The retailer had a look, couldn’t see an issue with it and suggested that perhaps my tv (2008 Sony Bravia) was too old. Back using the 8H plus for the present.
Has anyone had this issue? Would a new tv sort this?
Any helpful suggestions would be most appreciated .

Have you tried factory resetting the box?

Yep. Can only think it’s the tv.
Pity , because it’s doing great otherwise for a 10 year old.

Try it out on another newer TV just to be sure before you buy anything

    It WAS the Tv !!

And it would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids

As a matter of interest what remote are you using with the U9?

    A3 lite airmouse.

    A3 lite airmouse.

I know you said it is the TV but...

If your remote handles voice commands, did you try disabling sound over usb? There was a problem at one stage with the microphone in the remote sending a signal to the box. So if you disable the sound by usb option it might resolve it.

Does it happen with other apps like Kodi or MX Player?

Did you try a different version of Netflix?

Was happening on all the apps. Also tried a smaller remote that came with it.
No issues at all on the 8H plus.
Now have moved up to a great tv , my first since before the crash .

Would you rate the new box above the old one?

The old box is good but a lot of stuff is not getting updates so felt I had to move on.
Just getting used to the new one. Appears smoother and expect to get a couple of good years out of it.
Minix are a little more expensive than some other boxes but I went with the new one based on my experience with the old one. U9 appears consistent.
