15x Skoda Fabia Estate vs 14x Octavia Estate

Looking at replacing my 15 year old Peugeot 307 with something newer.
Main criteria are Petrol Engine & Automatic gearbox with similar size overall to the 307. Budget is somewhere between 15-20K (with the lower end preferred of course!)

Was looking at the 2 Skoda Estate cars mentioned in the thread title: A 15x Fabia with the 110 BHP 1.2 TSI engine and DSG and a 14x Octavia, with similar 1.2 TSI engine type but only 105 BHP (? probably previous model) and DSG as well.

similar mileage and higher end interior and both good condition.

Octavia is of course slightly bigger given it is I think Golf platform (so arguably more like the 307), with the Fabia being on the Polo platform (hence more like a 207/208). Looks like the Octavia is about 40cm longer, and longer wheelbase, but a bit smaller interestingly

I am looking for some opinions in terms of the engine difference, and generally if someone has experience with maybe both of them in terms of how big the size difference is on a daily basis.

Car will be used for daily commute mainly and the odd drive down the country.

    Any thoughts?

Doing low mileage in general, on average about 6000 miles / 10.000 km max a year. Looking at buying and driving the car til the end, so 10-12 years ideally.

If youre looking at keeping a car 10-12 years, I would recommend you look at a normally aspirated car.
