I didn't know what to expect, if I would like it or not, but god, I can't explain with words how good it was.
As soon as I turned on the TV, I was immersed with all of it. Reached places of my mind I couldn't believe they were possible.

    Any experiences from your side?

Good man, taking the BBC like a champ. Usually when I try it I struggle to walk for a while afterwards.

What was the 1st program you watched,

Was it Holding Back The Years or The Sheriffs Are Coming :)

Jees it could have been worse if it was ITV with Piers Morganwink.png

I really like the BBC. It's an excellent service despite Radio 1. BBC 4 seems to be very good on the documentary front while BBC News is one of my favorite news outlets.

BBC 4 TV has gotten a bit "lighter" over the years.

    - there's something about 4's
ITV4 started off with The Water Margin and then went on to Space 1999, and TG4 make you wonder what they could do if they had a bigger fraction of RTE's budget.

Channel 4 news is quite good, even though it's done by ITN , but that's more a case of dumbing it down for the ITV network. I almost feel sorry for Trevor McDonald until I remember he's probably getting a fair few shillings for slumming it.

BBC Four has no money now and it's really showing, was reminded of that when flicking through the listings for the coming week and saw they are reshowing Danny Baker Rocks.. which is just the sort of cheap enjoyable throwaway thing they actually afford can't make now - what they have in the kitty needs to go on barely a handful of new titles a week. Meanwhile BBC One is spending a lot on crap co-productions like Siege of Troy.
