I only realised recently as I was sitting in the kitchen petting the dog, that as soon as you start, they stop wagging their tail.... All these years ( she is 12) and I never noticed.

She is my first dog so I think I am excused..;)

This "russet" has a most expressive tail; side to side, then up ad down and FINALLY! ROUND AND ROUND..

LOL yeah my friend has a Basset - sometimes her tail is like a beacon standing up when she's on a scent! :p

This wee one is half Jack Russell and half Bassett. A terrible mix but she is a sweetheart

But as soon as I pet her, the tail stops wagging.. WHY?
