PAYE Worker declaring untaxed Irish Income

I am an employed PAYE worker who has recently started freelancing as a sole-trader. I have declared to revenue that I estimate to make €2000 profit this year from untaxed Irish income and they have decreased my tax credits by €400 I fully understand this part.

From an accounts point of view I am currently keeping an excel spreadsheet with invoices and payments, there will be some expenses along the way too not many as my skill is the service. Do I need to get an accountant to show my year end totals for revenue? Or are my spreadsheets enough if I am ever audited?

If anyone has any advice or tips on this in general I would really appreciate it. Or if anyone has a sample of how they do it would be fantastic.

    Thank You.
