Buying a car - recommendations

    Folks,

    Ive been off the road for some time now, and looking to get back behind the wheel, but a bit lost on what to be looking at. One car I like the look of is the VW CC 2012 (newer model), or a 2012 Focus Sport Zetec / titanium.

    Im happy to buy in Ireland, but also strongly looking at the UK markets also, some nice deals to be had.

    Below is my criteria.. could anyone offer me some ideas / recommendations which might fit?

    VRT is a key concern if it is a UK purchase.

    Budget: 10-14k max!!

    Age: 2011-2013

    Im not fussy on engine size, or fuel type, provided TAX is under 280e.

    MPG: 50-70 max, im thinking thats about average.

    5 Doors

    Sturdy/Reliable, as im hoping it will last 4-5+ years.

    They are quite limiting criteria. Means a diesel most likely.

    p.s. Nobody in the real world gets 70mpg.

    If you go down the ford route I was advised by a few people that work for fords the best engines are the 2l models when I was looking and I picked up a Mondeo titanium and found it a fantastic car tbh and the business model also called titanium X is meant to be even better

    Best of luck on your search, I was looking for 3 months and it wrecked my head and was a relief to get my latest car a c220 smaller than I’m used to but a nice car
