I have been told that I should use 5w30 but have 10w40 to hand. Would it be ok to use 10w40?

    What year is it?
Are you topping up or just changing the oil?

Ford tddi is the old ford diesel engine with no common rail.
I would have no problem using a good 10 w40 oil in that engine.

Yeah, the TDDi is a mule of a thing, 10w40 woud be fine. The later TDCi is a lot more particular about it.
