    Hi all,

I have a 2004 omega semaster auto that I would like to either sell or trade against a newer model. Maybe a planet ocean or one of the newer seamasters which are due to be released later this year.

So what value would there be in my seamaster either as a trade in or cash sale?
2004 Automatic, good condition, box and papers included and bought from a retailer.

    Same as this one.

    http://www.watchfinder.co.uk/Omega/Seamaster%20300m/2531.80.00/5669/item/105773

    Thanks,
    Neil.

I've the same model, but from 2011. I bought it second hand in good condition with box and papers (but with one noticable scratch on the bezel) for a high 3 figure sum. I got a good deal, these go on eBay for a good bit more

But if you're buying a 3k RRP watch at a dealers, I would expect a lot more than a grand in trade in for it. What watch are you hoping to buy?

    I'm looking at this one.

I've been offered 1200 sterling trade against it just today.

Thats a nice planet Ocean. I think 1200 GBP trade is strong money, you wouldn't get that on the private sale market.

I think there's more to be had, I got an email asking what cost to change figure I had in mind.

Pity it's a 42mm, I'm looking for the bigger size.

Worth also pointing out that the new Seamaster for 2018 has the waves pattern - so may mean older models with waves are in less demand, £1200 sounds like a good trade in offer to me

Join TZ-uk and integrate yourself. You will pick one up for less that 3k privately and you can sell you Omega too.

50 posts before I get to see the for sale section and 250 to advertise, not much use to me

What's the rush? It will open up a wonderful safe and secure market to you.

I'll go against what the others are saying. At that price the dealer has quite a bit of room to play with I would imagine. £4335-£1200 = £3135 to change

Offer him £2800 to change, making sure he knows you are ready to pay him in full immediately. Take it from there. The easiest and quickest money you'll ever make in your life is from negotiating, trust me :D

And report back here. Good luck!

The backwards forum, why does every thread show the latest post first?
I registered there but don't see much point in posting rubbish to make up 250 posts.

I'm away to the UK tomorrow, I'm going to keep an eye open over there before I make a decision. Thanks :)

Bring your Seamaster and your Revolut card if you have one. You might be coming home with a different watch :D

I think you can change that under 'settings'. I never got the hang of posting pics there yet.

You can change that in the settings.

I wouldn't speed post. You will get banned. 50 posts and 60 days gets you access to the sales corner. Well worth it. If you have any long term interest in a collection. Way safer than adverts or donedeal.

Same watch you are buying from watxhfinder would be 1k cheaper from a private seller.

Also with TZ you don’t necessarily need the 250 posts to pick something up that you might see in sales corner. Once you have 50 posts you have access and you could in theory PM the seller? You just can’t list anything for sale till you hit the 250 post mark!
