Podgorica, Montenegro to Dubrovnik, Croatia

I land in mid June into Podgorica in Montenegro, at about 5pm.

I have four full days after this to fill in, and fly from Dubrovnik to Dublin on the 5th day at around midday.

Any suggested routes/must sees to fill in the days in the middle? Do I make a point of seeing some of Albania or Bosnia, or do i just head to Budva and then up to Dubrovnik?

Sarajevo and Mostar are worth seeing if you have time to go that far. Mostar is very pretty and quaint but you'd see it all in a day really. I loved Sarajevo and would certainly go back if the opportunity came up.

If they are too far off your planned route, there is plenty to see and do in Dubrovnik and the surrounding area :)

I'm thinking of a week or two in Montenegro later this year. Any tips would be appreciated. I don't want to move outside Montenegro except maybe to Skodra in Albania. Thanks.

Kotor is a beautiful town and a must-see.

Climb the path to the top of the hill for stunning views down the fjord/Bay of Kotor.

Head back down and get lost in the narrow winding pedestrianised alleyways of the old town.

Find a nice spot outside for a meal/drink and watch the bustle of a town without cars go by.

    It's a great spot.

How do you get to Montenegro?

    Fly.

Skyscanner will give you some routes. I went Dublin->Vienna->Podgorica from memory.

Dubrovnik airport is close to Montenegro.

There are a few national parks, but my favorite place is definitely Kotor, Love the bay & the town.

I was on a daytrip to Montenegro from Dubrovnik some years ago. We took in Kotor, Budva, Cetinje including the stunning Milena road. I guess that's the best of Montenegro. So this time I would like to visit Sveti Stefan, Bar and Ulcinj on the coast, maybe Podgorica, and Skodra in Albania.
I hope to go with OH in the Autumn, probably on a package if possible. I believe some of the flights stop after August so I would be tempted to go in August but I'm reluctant to risk one of those awful continental heatwaves.
Is Montenegro expensive? According to Tripadvisor there are alot of rude tourists from parts of the world that are new to travel, people to be avoided.

No, Montenegro is not expensive yet. No where near Dubrovnik prices! Of course, kotor is a little bit more than other places.

I'm not sure you can get onto Sveti Stefan now, I think it's all private, but I may be wrong!
Bar, imo, wouldn't be worth a stay, it's a drive through place for me.

Would love to spend a week there. Can you recommend an area of Budva to stay in or even some apartments

Budva is quiet small really, anywhere is walking distance. Cannot recommend any particular apartments, but they are mostly good quality.

Would there be an area that i should not stay in?
