I drove a 2015 one as a company car for a year and it was a great little car. In particular, I loved it as a car to drive - It's all very logically laid out and easy to use. The 1.6 Diesel is nippy enough because it's not the big and heavy of a car. - very comfortable on long journeys. Decent back seats and a great boot with the estate. All in all, I'd recommend it

OH has the 110bhp hatchback and it’s a great car, handles very well and it’s a comfortable car and so far no issues (ours is a 161 so it shouldn’t have any issues). Estate has a massive boot.

The only thing is they are 5 speed only and the ratios are spread out, would be better with a 6 speed

Have a 152 2.0 tdi fr st from new. Great car...better than expected tbh. 85k km done and not so much as a rattle. Very practical boot, comfortable seats, enjoy the handling.
Lot cheaper to service, put tyres on etc than previous A4.
Obviously 1.6 different but 2.0 has plenty power and year round average 52 mpg spirited driving.
If I have to find fault it's that paintwork a little soft...too many chipping marks. However seems to be common with non Audi VAG and other marques.

Had an FR myself too. Don't know much about the 1.6 but the rest of the car is very decent. Decent build and comfy. I'd be tempted to go a year older and get a 2 litre if possible. 6 speed makes a big difference to motorway work. Get the 184 and you get a very slightly smoother ride due to the fully independent suspension and better brakes.

I also have a 2014 estate 1.6tdi SE. Overall very happy with it and it does what I need it to do.  I'm driving mainly cross country and motorways and I find it nice to drive and plenty nippy enough (having said that, I'm not particularly heavy with the right foot).  If I was being picky I would say the seats are only OK  - not uncomfortable by any stretch of the imagination, but there is a marked difference, between them, and the seats in our other car (Skoda Octavia).

I'd also agree that it could do with being 6 speed.
