You may have heard the story of Count Dankula, a Youtube comedian recently convicted of a hate crime in the UK for teaching his dog to do a Nazi salute and making Hitler jokes. Pretty much the entire internet expressed disbelief that a simple joke is now enough to land someone a prison sentence (especially in light of child grooming cases that have been deliberately ignored so as not to upset the Muslim community but that's for another thread).

Except Graham Linehan who went on a Twitter tirade calling the convicted Youtuber a "bellend" amongst other names. Linehan claims Dankula is a conservative and member of the alt-right and therefore deserves to be in jail. This is despite Dankula being a self-confessed Communist. The hypocrisy is outstanding. Linehan made his money from creating Fr Ted which was an edgy and openly offensive comedy aimed at the Catholic Church. There were even episodes containing Nazi jokes where Ted was mistakenly portrayed as a racist repeatedly...and we all laughed. So why is it ok when Linehan does it but when others do it they deserved jail time?

What's wrong with the actual thread?
