    I'm considering a purple kitchen.
I have a blue suite in the adjoining living room.
Walks and floor covering will be very neutral.
Not sure that I'll ever get curtains.
Is this a big no, no?

My house is probably going to end up the same as I'm filling it with cast off furniture from various family members. I'm aiming to keep floors (wood and tile) fairly light and neutral and internal doors and skirting off white. So while it won't be fashionable I'm aiming for cosy. I like the idea of a strong colour splash here and there so your purple kitchen sounds nice. I'm thinking of a blue wall in mine with open shelving.
I don't think you should worry about the colour of your suite in the adjoining room anyway.

I think mismatch is very much "in".
But its something that will imo look awfull when it goes out of fashion..
