Sorry if this has been asked before but i had a thought.

In certain terms and conditions a company will absolve themselves of responsiblity based on things that are consider "an acct of God".

First point i would like to make is if someone belives in god as a creater who created everything past present and future, then certainly everything that has happened and that will ever happened has been predetermined and should considered an act of God. From wind blowing a tree down to Joe Bloggs crashing his car.

    Could that be agreed upon?

Second point is if someone is an athiest and doest not believe in a creater could they challange a case where a company claims "an act of god" as a defense and argue that someone somewhere is responsible for what happened based on that belief?

Now i know it would be hard to argue weather but im wondering if someone could argue the point.

It would remind of that time some fella tried to sue the devil only they couldnt summon him as they didnt has his address

"Act of God" is a relatively well defined legal term. It doesn't really refer to "God" or require a belief in one.

It basically covers all natural events which are not caused by (or controllable by) humans, which cannot be reasonably foreseen and cannot be reasonably guarded against.
