Adding insulation (of whatever type) will likely do little to improve the situation if draughts are the cause of your heat loss in the first place. Research "air tightness".

Mick is completely right. I recently internally insulated my house and did 75% of it myself after a lot of research. In the rooms I did, there are zero draughts and as a result they are toasty warm.

Due to time constraints, I hired someone to do the insulation in the extension and he did not follow my instructions in relation to sealing the insulation for draughts and over the winter I've spent a lot of time fixing his mistakes. Very frustrating.

There is no point in adding heat to a room and trying to keep it there with insulation if you've cold air leaking in!!!

Funnily enough, the other rooms have the thinnest insulation (40mm boards) and in the extension they are 90mm, yet the extension is the coldest room purely due to the draughts blowing across the room.
