Looks like Sportsworld is taking over the entire store in Carrickmines. There’s 20% off all heatons stock including stock already reduced. There’s a further 30% off Home ware. It’s absolutely jammed with people but if you have the patience to wait 20 min to be served it’s worth having a look.

Didn't sportsworld buy out Heatons about a year ago?

Can't understand how Sportsworld could fill both floors?
Carrickmines is always busy but needs an Argos and a Supermarket.
    Too many electrical shops.

They will probably have a heatons, sportsdirect and USC in the unit when it re-opens after renovations

Sure they're opening a Tesco/Aldi/Lidl in the new build part at the back of Heatons. Be 2 years though!

Does that mean you'll be able to walk in directly from the Luas and not have to walk all the way around?

Tralee one has been going on a couple of weeks. Not great fare tbh. Same story with Sportsworld taking over the whole building.

If I remember correctly, there's no cash machine outside, not even at the AIB!

Even though Sports Direct own heatons, I have heard Sports Direct will not be trading there.

If the rumour is true, Ireland's first Decathlon store will open there.

    Decathlon!! Finally!!!

Info I have is they are opening in Carrickmines, but no info to a specific location. So possibly this stays as sports direct and Decathlon open somewhere else within the park.

They changed from Heatons to Sportsworld (Direct) in Tullamore and currently doing it in Portlaoise now.

Someone said they're making an entrance from the Luas stop to the centre, what is/was stopping it is the bit of heritage in between, the "Pale ditch" is behind the derelict houses on the Ballyogan Road, the cant bulldoze it so have to circumnavigate it some how,

When is 20% off all stock -mean only some stock
I was there today ,signs everywhere 20% off all stock ,queued up with some Slazenger items ,only to be told it does not include this brand-unbelievable only in Ireland
Anyone any ideas of customer rights in this scenario

Heatons are now an English company. Owned and operated by Mike ashley of Sports Direct.

    His "sales tactics" are used.

Think it’s 20% off all heatons stock. They have moved lots of sports direct stock down to fill space and that’s not reduced.

You could probably have argued your point with them in that case.

Looks like the Decathlon is opening beside Ikea in Ballymun.

Perfect fit, I always describe Decathlon as the Ikea of Sports. Having to pay the toll there and back might save my cc from melting!

any date for when Decathlon is opening? I've a few things needed and would wait if it were for a month or two.

Is it cheaper than sports direct?

    It's currently a field. Planning + build = 12-15 months.

Way cheaper and better and rather than try and fool people into thinking they are buying brands that are actually obsolete brand names just used as a cover for own brand rubbish, Decathlon strictly sell their own brands and make sure they are as good as or better that well known brands in the different sectors

But they are very much a "Sports" retailer and into proper sports equipment.

I thought SportsDirect took over all Heatons stores in Ireland.Mike Ashley adding to his empire.

as posted in another post, Heatons was for many years 51% owned by sports direct / mike ashley and a couple of years ago he bought the rest of the shares.

Sports Direct is the parent company for several retail brands including USC, Brand Max, agent provocteur & Firetrap and others in USA and Australia.

Brandmax which will go upstairs is an attempt to create a TK Maxx operation and Ireland is the main test market.
