Mitsubishi mechanics - a question

I'm considering buying a 08+ Mitsubishi Lancer 1.5 petrol, the reason for my choice is the impressive mpg return and bhp of the engine, considering it's a petrol engine.
That's all good but I recently done some research online and there seems to be a few complaints about said engine, worn piston rings and a resulting huge increase in oil consumption.
Have you heard of this or of any other issues with that particular engine?
I have owned several Mitsubishi cars over the years and the engines have been pretty much bulletproof, this engine is an all aluminium lump so perhaps it doesn't have the same longevity of older engines, any info appreciated ☺️

107bhp isn’t massive for a 1.5. They don’t feel overly fast. The brother had one before and had no problems.
