Looking for a 7 seater around 2011 to 2013 with an actual handbrake not an electric one. Anyone have recommendations. Diesel and low engine size (less than 2 litre) if possible.

What's wrong with electric handbrake? Far easier than manual, you don't have to constantly evaluate if you have it pulled up enough plus it's one less thing in the way when you have a car full of kids

(Very) Base models without the centre console could be had with a manual handbrake in the previous Scenic II , and in the Scenic III as far as i remember.

we have a MkIII Grand Scenic without the centre console and it does have the electric handbrake. On our previous MkII the handbrake unit had to be replaced twice!

Bottom two specs of the Zafira come with with a manual handbrake. Good value in UK

Age range you are looking at most would be 130bhp 2litres the 1.6 that came later is much more refined and has a bit more power. I'm very happy with ours. I have an electric hand brake though and wouldn't go back now. It's strange at first but you quickly get used to it. It frees up space between front seats for the flex rail storage system that I really like.

Its a massive stereotype to say avoid french to be honest. in recent times the troublesome cars seem to be german. Constantly hearing of Opels and BMWs causing headaches at work yet everyone with french stuff never seems to have issues.

    You can't do this

I found out by accident that you can. I tried it on a MK7 Golf thinking it wouldn't do anything, got in trouble for it!

I don't believe you can do a handbrake turn with the vw electric parking brake. A quick pull at any speed will result in a beep to tell you you should be stopped before attempting to activate.
A long pull of the electronic brake will activate an emergency stop but as far as I know and have tried, it activates the hydraulic brake circuit to all 4 wheels to bring car to stop in a controlled manner as opposed to locking the caliper motors at the rear wheels.

Had a look at one of these recently the back seats are comical. I guess the could work if you have no legs.
