    Hi all,

As the weather conditions are forecast to become very cold this long weekend with a possibility of snow, we encourage you to read the following important information:

    * PAYG electricity customers who buy credit at a retailer: We strongly recommend setting up an online account if possible, and/or topping up in advance for Monday in case of weather conditions affecting travel. Credit-friendly hours are in effect 4pm Friday until 8am/9am Monday (depending on PAYG meter type). This Monday is standard, as the meters are pre-programmed and Bank Holiday Mondays occur on different dates every year. Credit-friendly hours are otherwise in effect week-days 4pm to 8am/9am, and New Year's Day, St. Patrick's Day (if a week-day), Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, St. Stephen's Day and New Year's Eve. Here is how to top up.

    * PAYG gas customers and token meter customers: As these vends can only be purchased at outlets which sell this service, we strongly recommend purchasing credit in advance of Saturday in case of weather conditions affecting travel. Guide to gas PAYG here.

    * If a power-line is affected in your locality causing an outage, report this to ESB Networks (for customers of all electricity billing/PAYG companies) on their 24-hour emergency phone number 1850 372 999, and/or check this page of their website.

    * If you have safety concerns regarding gas supply (such as a gas leak), always contact Gas Networks Ireland (for customers of all gas billing/PAYG companies) on 1850 20 50 50 (24-hour).

    * We are here on Electric Ireland Social Media until 6pm, and the Customer Service phone team will be available until 8pm this evening and until 8pm tomorrow. Electric Ireland is closed on Monday 19th March.

    Best regards,
    Una
